Off White Wool Dress

This heavy, tailor made wool dress was found in Bollnäs / Hälsingland. It’s lined and has an off white, grayish color in it’s wool threads.

Sometimes when finding an unusual piece like this one made out of wool, I feel such respect for the craftmanship behind it. First the handling of the corse wool to make it into fine thread. Next comes the weaving process, and then the tailor has handled it with such skill and knowledge. You can’t really see it at a distance here, but the weaving is made to produce a subtle pattern in the material that make it look very distinguished.
